We’re located right off US-69 Highway at the 247th Street exit in Louisburg. Look for our Pinestead Grove Farm signage at the exit — you can’t miss us!

From Kansas City (Downtown)

Take I-35 South toward Olathe. Merge onto US-69 South (exit for Overland Park/Louisburg). Stay on US-69 South for about 20 miles. Take the 247th Street exit and turn right (west). Pinestead Grove Farm is immediately on your right.

From Overland Park

Head south on US-69 toward Louisburg. Take the 247th Street exit and turn right (west). Pinestead Grove Farm is immediately on your right.

From Olathe

From I-35, merge onto US-69 South toward Louisburg. Continue about 15 miles. Take the 247th Street exit and turn right (west). You’ll see Pinestead Grove Farm right away on your right.

From Lawrence

Take K-10 East toward Olathe. Merge onto US-69 South toward Louisburg. Stay on US-69 South about 20 miles. Take the 247th Street exit and turn right (west). Pinestead Grove Farm will be on your right.

From Paola

Head east on K-68 toward Louisburg. Merge onto US-69 North toward Overland Park. Take the 247th Street exit and turn left (west). Pinestead Grove Farm will be immediately on your right.

Farm Rules

We’re so excited to welcome you to Pinestead Grove! To make sure everyone has a safe, festive, and memorable experience, please follow these guidelines:

Staff-cut trees only. Once you’ve chosen your perfect Scotch Pine, our friendly crew will cut it for you — no outside saws or tools, please.
Supervise children. Keep little ones within arm’s reach at all times for their safety.
Leash your pets. Well-behaved, leashed pets are always welcome! Please clean up after them, and note that pet owners assume full responsibility for their animals while on the farm.
Stay on designated paths. Help protect young trees and fields by keeping to marked walkways.
Drive slowly. Watch carefully for pedestrians, wagons, and children in parking areas and farm lanes.
No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or open flames. For everyone’s safety and comfort, the farm is smoke-free and alcohol-free.
No drones. For guest privacy and safety, drones are not permitted anywhere on the property.
Professional photography. Photo sessions must be scheduled in advance and follow our Photography Policy.
Respect our trees and fields. Please cut only what you purchase and handle all trees with care.
Stay off equipment. Please don’t climb, sit, or play on tractors, wagons, or other farm equipment unless directed by staff.
Be courteous. Treat other guests and our staff kindly — we’re all here to share in the holiday spirit!

Tree Selection & Purchase Guide

Here’s how the You-Pick, We-Cut experience works at Pinestead Grove:

Walk or ride. Stroll the fields or hop on a people mover to explore trees farther out.
You-Pick, We-Cut. Once you’ve picked your favorite Scotch Pine, our team will safely cut it for you.
Pre-cut Firs available. Prefer something ready to go? Browse our premium selection of pre-cut Firs in the pre-cut barn.
No pre-tagging or reservations. We don’t offer pre-tagging or tree holding — just come during open hours and choose from our full selection!
Tree processing. After cutting, we’ll shake, net, and provide twine so you can secure your tree for the ride home.
Payment & pickup. Pay inside the retail barn and keep your tree tag stub to claim your finished tree.
Wreaths & décor. Shop our handmade wreaths, garlands, and holiday décor while your tree is being prepped.
Warm up. Enjoy free hot chocolate, cozy up by the fire pit, and take in the Christmas cheer.
Events & Santa Visits. Santa and other special guests visit select weekends — follow us on social media for dates, live music, and food-truck announcements!

TREE VARIETIES

Choose & Cut:

Scotch Pine: Dense, bright green, sturdy branches, and that classic Christmas fragrance.

Pre-Cut Varieties:

Fraser Fir: Bluish-green needles, strong branches, and excellent needle retention.
Balsam Fir: Deep green color, soft needles, and a wonderfully traditional pine scent — perfect for a cozy, aromatic holiday home.

CHRISTMAS TREE CARE

Keep your tree fresh and festive all season long:
Make a fresh cut. Trim ½–1" off the trunk and place in water within 1–2 hours.
Hydrate daily. Trees can drink up to a gallon of water per day — especially in the first week.
Keep away from heat. Avoid fireplaces, heaters, and direct sunlight.
Use a sturdy stand. Choose one that holds at least one gallon of water and fits your tree’s size.
Light safely. Check all cords for wear and turn off lights when unattended.

PAYMENT & POLICIES

Payment options: We accept cash and card inside the retail barn.
All sales final: Due to our short seasonal operation, all tree and merchandise sales are final.
Outside food & drinks: Not permitted, but enjoy complimentary cocoa and treats available onsite.
Photography sessions: Professional photographers must schedule in advance and pay the required session fee. See our Photography Policy page for details.
Food trucks: We’re currently scheduling vendors for the Christmas season! Email [email protected] for more info.
Drones prohibited: Drones are not allowed anywhere on the property.

PARKING & ACCESSIBILITY

Free parking: Please park in designated areas and keep lanes clear for wagons and guests.
Tow notice: Vehicles blocking access may be towed at the owner’s expense.
Uneven terrain: This is a working farm — wear sturdy shoes and watch your step. People movers are available to help guests reach distant fields.
Restrooms: Port-o-potties are located near the retail barn for your convenience.
